Our chef will produce a modern version of the traditional dishes, such as “scallops” and “duck breast”. Live music all night long.

Important communication: -> This year, the fireworks were canceled to avoid excessive gatherings around the Piazza San Marco. Our party is however confirmed. We keep our distance, respect the rules and have fun in total safety!

One of the most frequent questions regarding the Feast of the Redeemer is: do we actually see fireworks from the Top of the Carlton? Yes, from our terrace you can see the St. Mark’s bell tower and therefore you can also see the fireworks over the roofs of Venice.

A brief digression on the meaning of this Venetian pyrotechnical festival event.

WHY: The Feast of the Redeemer was celebrated for the first time in 1577 to celebrate the end of the plague that wiped out 25% of the population in the previous two years. To commemorate the event, the greatest Renaissance architect Palladio built the splendid church of the Redentore, on the island of Giudecca. Since then, a crowd of people visit the church crossing a special floating bridge only built for the occasion.

WHEN: The day of the Redeemer is celebrated every third Sunday of July. In the past, this day was looked forward to with so much anticipation and preceded by so many preparations that, over the years, people began to celebrate it from the previous Saturday, they spent the night on boats in front of the Giudecca island or along the banks, to find the best place for the ceremonies of the following day.

HOW: Fireworks always accompany the Feast of the Redeemer. At 11:30 pm the show starts in the San Marco Basin. The fires fly, shine and illuminate the night sky, while the water reflects them upside down increasing the charm. The terraces and the “altane” light up with colored balloons while the thin veins of the canals and the streets are crowded with boats and people.
